Hi, I'm Lucas!

I had the vision for Mira when bought my first home in late 2021. I loved the opportunity to be able to renovate it from top to bottom and furnish it with modern furniture. But hated the process of spending all my evenings and weekends touring furniture shops, endlessly scrolling Instagram and Pinterest, yet the final results still weren't exactly how I envisioned them to be. There had to be a better way. I spoke with all my friends who had to decorate a home in recent years, I realized I wasn’t alone. Everyone seemed to struggle with the same thing. I wanted to build a product that would close the gap between inspiration and reality, so you don’t have to imagine anymore. Our home is an important part of our well being. The big opportunity that Mira unlocks is it enables us to dream and easily visualize how beautiful and inspiring our home can be. So we can turn that dream into reality.

I teamed up with my former colleague Sam Robertson, who's well versed in the web 3D and computer vision space, to begin building Mira and completely re-envision an interior design experience for the modern consumer.

The second reason I began building Mira is that interior design for the everyday homeowner is massively underserved. For high end homes, you can afford a team of architects and interior designers that use specialized software such as CAD to create a 3D mockup, and curate the furniture items for you. Mira is bringing high end interior design service for the masses. 3D design tools such as Houzz Pro and Planner 5D have existed for a few years, but they remain familiar only to innovators and early adopters. The vast majority of the total addressable market are unaware of these tools because web based 3D graphics are inherently difficult to use. My vision with Mira is to tap into the majority of the total addressable market by creating an AI-powered personal interior designer that understands the user’s style preferences, turns static images into interactive 3D scenes and curates a personal shopping list from real world brands.
